Our Hong Kong star swimmer Siobhán Haughey made the legend at the Fina Swimming World Cup in Berlin and Toronto, winning five gold and one bronze medals at the first two legs of the competition. She came first in the women’s 100m and 200m freestyle, showing she has the stuff to be a world-class swimmer.

Though Siobhán suffered from an ankle injury a few months ago, it didn’t weaken her determination to train and make herself stronger. In late August, she made a winning return at the Hong Kong Open Swimming Championships after an eight-month absence from the pool. She was victorious in the 200m and 400m freestyle, as well as breaking her own record in Hong Kong.

For every athlete, it is a big challenge for them to recover from injury and restart systematic training. However, Siobhán didn’t let her injured ankle become an excuse, she even surmounted the setback optimistically. Breaking record was not the goal for Siobhán this time, she just wanted to make her personal best instead. That’s why “Your only limit is you” is her all-time favourite quote.
