Made In Japan – CHEVIGNON x WASHI, the First Washi Paper Denim in Hong Kong
Chevignon is presenting the CHEVIGNON x WASHI collaboration by joining hands with Mr. Hiro Yoshikawa, Master Jeans Wash Designer, and featuring the special Washi handcrafted selvedge denim.
In order to inherit Japanese traditional Washi into denim, Mr. Yoshikawa had dedicated 10 years of efforts and passion for developing Washi paper yarn that can be perfectly weaved into denim. Together with Japan indigo dyed and Okayama artisans’ craftsmanship, the Washi paper denim is lighter in weight, strong in texture that promise a premium quality of denim to wearers.
To celebrate the collection launch, a CHEVIGNON X WASHI event was held on 14 March at Gateway in which our designer has shared his journey of making denim to the crowd of fashion and lifestyle publications and denim lovers. This innovative Washi selvedge denim collection consists of 6 jeans and 1 jacket enriching the Chevignon denim ability.
